Maybe this is TOO EARLY?

Where does EARLY MODERN Art start?

The Early Modern art movement starts in the early 20th century, around 1910.  Rightfully, much of what we see as "Modern" today started around that time period.

Others disagree and feel it begins waaaaaay earlier than that!  Such as... as soon as artists got away from painting what was REALLY in front of them (realism), as depicted in the Renaissance.  So... is Impressionism modern?  Like Monet?  Wow... that's pretty early!  And while Impressionism is less about the structural realism, it can't quite be seen as "modern."

Post-Impressionism. That's where I believe it starts.  It defines the time period where Impressionism starts to change and metamorphosis into something more abstract... the start of Early Modern Art.  Some people still make think it's TOO EARLY!

So join me, even though (YAWN) it might be a tad on the EARLY side for all the late sleepers here...
